The INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) is an international credential that shows you have the knowledge and experience to practise systems engineering. It is voluntary, so no one in Canada is required to hold it to work in the field.
Official website ↗Systems engineering is about designing and managing complex products and projects so that all the parts work well together. The CSEP is issued by the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). It is recognized around the world, and Canadians can earn it and use it in their careers.
Holding the CSEP can help you stand out when you apply for jobs or seek promotion. It is often useful for systems designers, systems engineers and systems engineers working in aviation. Employers in sectors such as aerospace, defence, transportation and technology value it as proof of both knowledge and real-world experience.
The CSEP exam is a written, multiple-choice test based on the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook. It checks that you understand the key ideas, processes and terms used in systems engineering. Most candidates set aside a few months of regular study to prepare.
The CSEP does not last forever. To keep it, you must renew on a regular schedule set by INCOSE. Renewal usually means showing that you are still active in systems engineering and have kept learning, and paying a renewal fee.
