Overview
The Department of Nursing is housed within USC's Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, a distinctive structural arrangement reflecting USC's emphasis on interdisciplinary, community-based health and human services education. The nursing program was developed to address workforce shortages and to train nurses through a lens of social determinants of health, health equity, and population-focused care, complementing the school's long-standing leadership in social work education. It offers programs such as the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) for non-nursing degree holders, preparing graduates to become registered nurses with a strong grounding in social justice and community health practice.
