The USF College of Nursing was established in 1974 as part of the University of South Florida and has grown into one of the largest and most respected nursing programs in the Southeast. Housed within USF Health alongside the Morsani College of Medicine, Taneja College of Pharmacy, and College of Public Health, it offers programs from the baccalaureate through the Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Nursing Practice. It is known for strong NCLEX performance, high-ranking graduate and online programs, and a growing research enterprise in areas such as aging, symptom science, and health equity.
Students train in the Tampa Bay region's extensive network of hospitals and clinics and in state-of-the-art simulation facilities at the USF Health Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare. Interprofessional education with medicine, pharmacy, and public health students is a hallmark of the experience. The college serves a diverse student body, including many working nurses in its online RN-to-BSN, master's, and DNP programs, and emphasizes community engagement, veteran-friendly support, and workforce readiness.
