Overview
The Gatton College of Business and Economics traces its roots to 1925 as the College of Commerce at the University of Kentucky, and was renamed in 1997 following a major gift from alumnus Carol Martin Gatton. It has grown into the premier business school in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, holding dual AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting, a distinction earned by only a small percentage of business schools worldwide. The college is particularly well regarded for its Von Allmen School of Accountancy and its finance and economics programs, which consistently place graduates in top accounting firms, banks, and corporations.
