Overview
The McAuley School of Nursing is named for Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, and reflects the University of Detroit Mercy's Catholic, Jesuit and Mercy heritage of service to the poor and vulnerable. Nursing education at Detroit Mercy traces back decades through the merger of the University of Detroit and Mercy College of Detroit in 1990, combining strong health sciences traditions. The school is best known for its BSN, accelerated second-degree, RN-to-BSN, MSN, DNP and nurse anesthesia programs, with particularly strong regional reputation in nurse anesthesia (CRNA) education.
