The University of Denver Sturm College of Law was founded in 1892 and is the largest law school in the Rocky Mountain region. It is ABA-accredited and a member of the AALS, and the school was renamed in 2000 in honor of the Sturm family following a major gift. It is best known for its experiential education programs, including clinics, externships, and trial advocacy, as well as strong offerings in environmental and natural resources law, international law, and legal technology.
Sturm College of Law is located on the University of Denver's main campus in a residential Denver neighborhood, with easy access to the courts, government agencies, and law firms of downtown Denver. Students benefit from a collaborative community, a wide variety of student organizations, and substantial opportunities for hands-on practice through clinics, externships, and pro bono work. The school offers JD, LLM, and MLS degrees along with several joint-degree options, and its alumni network is particularly strong across Colorado and the Mountain West.
