Overview
Founded in 1986, the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing at UMass Chan Medical School was established to advance nursing education and research in Massachusetts, becoming part of the state's only public academic health sciences center. The school quickly built a reputation for its innovative nurse practitioner programs and its PhD in Nursing, which has produced influential nurse scientists and educators. It is particularly recognized for its contributions to advanced practice nursing, psychiatric mental health nursing, and interprofessional education alongside the medical and biomedical sciences schools on the Worcester campus.
