Overview
Established alongside UTSA's founding in 1969, the College of Business grew rapidly to become one of the largest business schools in Texas, earning full AACSB International accreditation for both its business and accounting programs. In 2020, the college was renamed in honor of Carlos Alvarez, a prominent San Antonio businessman and philanthropist, following a landmark gift supporting scholarships, faculty, and program development. The college is particularly recognized for its cybersecurity and information systems programs, capitalizing on San Antonio's status as a major U.S. cybersecurity hub.
