Overview
The Rawls College of Business traces its roots to 1927 as the School of Business Administration at Texas Technological College, growing alongside the university into a comprehensive business school. It was renamed in 2000 in honor of Jerry S. Rawls, a Texas Tech alumnus and co-founder of Finisar Corporation, following a significant philanthropic gift. The college has built a strong reputation for its innovative Energy Commerce program, one of the few of its kind nationally, as well as respected accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship offerings.
