Founded in 1900 as part of Stetson University, Stetson University College of Law is Florida's oldest law school. It is widely respected for its trial and appellate advocacy programs, which have produced numerous national championship teams, and for its top-ranked legal research and writing program. The College is ABA-accredited and has long been a leading source of Florida judges, prosecutors, and practicing attorneys.
The main campus is in Gulfport, Florida, near St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay region, with a Tampa Law Center downtown that serves part-time and evening students. Students benefit from small class sizes, extensive clinical and externship opportunities, and strong ties to the Tampa Bay legal community. Distinctive strengths include advocacy, elder law, environmental law, and international law, and the school is known for a collegial, supportive student culture.
