PCOM Georgia is a branch campus of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, which was founded in 1899. The Georgia campus opened in 2005 in Suwanee to address the state's physician shortage and to expand osteopathic medical education in the Southeast. It is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) for the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program and by ACPE for its pharmacy program, and it is known for producing physicians who often enter primary care and practice in underserved Georgia communities.
The campus is a compact, professional graduate environment with a close-knit cohort culture, small classes, and extensive hands-on training in simulation labs and osteopathic manipulative medicine. Students complete clinical rotations across a large network of Georgia hospitals and clinics, and many stay to practice in the region. Programs are anchored in interprofessional education, with medical, pharmacy, physical therapy, and biomedical students learning side by side, and student life centers on clubs, community service, and clinical outreach rather than traditional undergraduate activities.
