Keiser University was founded in 1977 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as Keiser Career College by Arthur Keiser and Evelyn Keiser, and gained university status in 2006. It is regionally accredited by SACSCOC and has grown into a multi-campus system with more than 20 campuses across Florida plus a large online division. The university is best known for its career-oriented degrees, particularly in nursing, allied health, business, and criminal justice, delivered through a distinctive one-course-at-a-time schedule.
Campuses are mostly small, commuter-oriented, and urban or suburban, with intimate class sizes and a strong emphasis on applied learning and employer connections. Students typically include working adults, career changers, and transfer students attracted by flexible scheduling and year-round enrollment. The West Palm Beach flagship campus offers limited housing and athletics, with the Seahawks competing in the NAIA, while most students engage through professional clubs, honor societies, and service activities.
