About Nova Scotia Community College

Nova Scotia Community College, known as NSCC, is the province's public college, with campuses in communities from Cape Breton to Yarmouth. It was founded in 1988 when the province brought its vocational schools and technical colleges together under a single institution.

NSCC programs are built around applied learning, with lab work, shop time, clinical placements and work terms that connect classroom learning to the workplace. Offerings cover trades, technology, health, business, creative industries, marine and natural resources, and more, ranging from certificates and diplomas to advanced diplomas and some degree pathways.

Because campuses are spread across the province, many students can study close to home. Employers, industry groups and communities help shape programs so that graduates leave with skills that match local labour needs.
